  • Tokyo Crime Rate is What?

What about the crime rate in Tokyo, will it be like the Rio Olympics where I have to be careful about my security?

  • #2
Crime rate in Tokyo is very very smaller percentage compare with Rio. It`s no comparison. But all the country have bad people. so always good thing to think about security and safety.
But, generally, tokyo is really safety, you can walk night time by yourself.

Japan would probably be the safest country in the world, I have had no problem with walking around Tokyo after midnight and didn't feel threatened at all, but as anywhere don't take anything for granted.
You hear stories of people leaving wallets somewhere that's busy, and returning later to look for it and finding its still where they left it or its been handed in to the police!

I hear that bicycle thefts are a big thing in Japan, but I guess the average tourist wont be getting around to much on a bike, but if you do you better lock up!

no. japan is completely different from brazil. petty crimes are not prevalent in 1st,2nd world countries.
just be on your guard always to be safe no matter which country you're on.

As long as you're responsible, have common sense and aware of your surrounding, I doubt something bad is ever going to happen to you in Tokyo. As they said, Japan is one of the safest country we know. Just be sure that you do your part of taking good care of yourself, I think you'll be safe there.

How about the Yakuza? Do they pose a danger to anyone?
