I've been an avid researcher about royalty in general from the east and west. I watched videos in Youtube and so many TV series and movies related to royalty over the yeas. It fascinates me a lot and maybe I was influenced too by my late mom. These days, the most trending royals are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who've decided to move to Canada and step down from being Senior Royals. In the east, the most trending news was last year's coronation of Emperor Naruhito of Japan. I know cultures such as the Japanese culture, with such bulletproof traditions would always believe that it's relevant. But do you really think royalty is still relevant at this age? Is it still relevant in Japan?

I didn't even know Japan had royalty until I moved there. I don't know much about how their lifestyle is funded. As far as I know, British royalty (Any British posters, please correct me if I'm wrong) is funded by the British taxpayers. I don't know if I can make a point about their relevancy in Japan because I'm not Japanese. As an American, though, I don't believe there is still a need for royalty.
