Manga VS Webtoon: How things are changing.

Not exactly pitting them together for they do have a lot of differences. But from someone who had been an avid reader of mangas and follower of different animes, it makes me sad to notice that I am following webtoon more now than any mangas.

It has something to do with repetitive plots (Isekai) and lack of translated mangas in bookstores.

Webtoon is accessible, you can get them in an app after all. However, mangas can only be legally obtain through buying them in bookstore or kinokuniya for chosen English translated one.

People kept saying anime/manga is a dying industry. But I think, the problem is more of exposure above all else.

Because as much as I want to support the artist, the only time I can get it is through buying merchandise and books online and by then the books may not be in English and I have to wait for a very long time.

No fast passes and definitely no patreon. What do you guys think?

I still don't think that the anime/manga industry will ever die. It may weaken but only due to a problem with the accessibility of foreigners. So it's just their exposure in the international community that may die but it will never cease in the hearts of the Japanese people who have full support for it. So, I guess I agree with you that they're just not getting exposure because of their traditional way of creating and advertising manga, which is through comic books. Webtoons, however, is something really new to me. I only discovered what it is because of your post. So it's like the counterpart of manga in Korea. That's nice. I haven't seen or read one yet. I'm gonna try to look for one and see how it goes.
