In their side, I don't think they meant to be harassed and treated like a child. Most of them just like the fashion and I believe we should still treat them with respect. The problem is not about them dressing up, the problem is the people thinking malicious things about it and relating them to hentai etc. We should also think that some of them, they treat dressing up like this as a treatment and identity. Let's not hate people.

I think for Japanese who live in Japan, it is hard to control a lot of things in life. For example, I've seen many cases where my Japanese friends didn't get a saying in what they wanted to for their careers because their parents wanted them to be a doctor or something that pays well and elevates the family name. In companies, you can be treated badly or differently specially if you're new there. Of course this does not apply to every case but due to the lack of choice people have in Japan, I've seen several people with suicidal thoughts.
And I learned that one of their therapies is fashion. It is hard for us to understand what is going on with so much pink and fluffy clothes but it is a way Japanese can express themselves being able to have full control of what they wear. And then inspiring other people that once had suicidal thoughts to have hope as well. It is an unusual thing for us but perhaps Lolita fashion or other fashion in Japan is all about identity and therapy.

It's therapy for them? That's nice to know then. I've heard a lot of suicidals in Japan. If this is a form of therapy for them then they should promote this even more. I don't find anything wrong with this. Sure it may attract pedobears more but if you think about it, almost anything really attracts them. As for these lolitas, it's a form of fashion trend in that country, it's the same thing with other countries. Who knows, for us, we may find it weird for them to wear such clothes, but for them, it's us who looks weird.Originally posted by Yuriyuri View PostAnd I learned that one of their therapies is fashion.
