  • Lolita Culture

As I was reading about this, I was amaze as how many traditional concepts was broken through this culture. One of the reason why some are attracted to the Lolita fashion was because of the idea of “dressing up without trying to be sexy” also, I stumbled upon a trivia regarding the fact that Lolita fashion was popularize by a male crossdresser guitarist named Mana from Mizer and later Moi dix Mois. It also has different varieties of way of clothing, it can go from sweet, gothic, country, classic, Wa-Loli (Kimono Based), Guro-Lolita (Nurse, blood, and wounds) and Sailor.(I'm not sure about Guro-Lolita, but) Isn’t that amazing?

I don't know very much about Lolita fashion besides what I've seen here and there, but it is quite an interesting trend once you start to learn more about it. I didn't realize that there were quite so many different types! The most common ones are sweet and gothic, I think. But I'm pretty certain that they all share a cuteness aesthetic, even when they're also a bit gruesome. I've seen some great Lolita dresses,, but they tend to be in such small sizes
I wonder if anyone knows a bit more about the history of this? I never would have guessed that it started with a male crossdresser, although it doesn't surprise me much!
Also, is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Lolita?
