Got a new discovery (maybe not for residents but for tourist) in Kyoto Station. I saw Ekiben which is a take out store with microwaveable bentos! I am so amaze of how pretty they are. Taste wise, its a little on the normal side but it is a good experience! Especially if you are planning to have a long hour ride in the Shinkansen!

That looks so yummy. Rode the Shinkansen once. Didn't know there are stores like this there. I didn't like the food that are being served in the train since they're just snacks. I think it would be better if they can also serve bento boxes like that one in the picture. It'll really make you full for the rest of the trip. And these are long trips like 2 to 4 hours, maybe even more. It's nice to be able to watch the places at the window when you're riding this train but if you're hungry, you'll just sleep until you can eat somewhere else with a better food.
