  • Pocky flavours

I've seen Pocky in anime and stuff before, and it exists over here, but it's got a different name. I've found some at an Asian food store, too. Pocky is like a stick of biscuit with chocolate on it, by the way. But Japan has all kinds of cool and weird flavours, like they do with Kitkats. Have you ever seen any of these? What do they taste like? I'm not even sure what some of these flavours are, because there wasn't a description or anything, so people who know Japanese, help me out!
One of them looks like lemon, I think that would be cool. It couldn't be too sweet though, because sweet lemon isn't really lemon to me.

Yeah, we have Pocky in the UK too, but it's called Mikado! We don't have many flavors, but we do have one that I don't think they have in Japan, which is the Daim flavor. There's bits of Daim bar in the chocolate on the outside.
You're right about the lemon one - it is what it says on the packet. The second photo has correct English on as well - they're tropical and coconut flavors. I've had those two, they were pretty good! The last one is "rare cheesecake", which I think means an uncooked cheesecake. I never quite understood how they came to call it "rare cheesecake". I suppose it would taste of cream cheese, which I wouldn't think is the most exciting flavor.
There are loads more flavors though, mostly limited edition ones which change all the time. I think all of those photos are of limited edition ones. The last two photos definitely are, I can see the writing.

I was looking through some old photos from when I was in Japan, and I found some Pocky ones that I thought you might be interested in.
The first one is Giant Rainbow Pocky. There are indeed 7 flavors, and they are huge. I found them in Osaka, and although they didn't travel too well, I had fun eating them with family when I got home! I think the 7 flavors were strawberry, melon, green tea, chocolate, vanilla, grape and banana.
The second photo is a limited edition flavor, but it's also a new size. I first saw these a few years ago, and they seem to have become a permanent thing. They're called "midi" size, and I think it's the same amount of ingredients, but they're shorter and fatter. I really like them, possibly even prefer them to the normal size.
