I've been planning a trip to Japan for a month now and at some point in my research, I'm getting anxious about their rules and the kind of iron fist discipline that the people are accustomed to. I feel like I'd be walking on eggshells when I'm there so I hope they'll be kinder to tourists like me just in case I'd end up in trouble. Rules related to medication, about punctuality, where I can't eat, when shopping and basic things like that. It seems that the vlogs I've watched in the country didn't really have a lot of that in them. The vloggers weren't at all too particular like one vlogger ate inside the train and reviewed the food he purchased and I've read that it's a no no especially if the smell of the food is strong and can cause discomfort to other passengers. And of course, I have to remember not to tip at restaurants. It's really making me anxious. Do you think I'm just too anxious or are all these rules really that rigid? What do you think?

The people in Japan remind me a lot of the people from where I'm from in the US, Minnesota. They are fairly passive-aggressive, so while you may get a couple of disapproving looks and maybe some people talking about you, nobody is likely to confront you as long as you aren't breaking any actual laws.
