  • Do you Like Hot or Cold Sake?

I have a simple question, what's the difference between hot and cold sake?

  • #2
Hot sake is called Atsukan熱燗、cold sake is cold Hiyazake冷酒.
I prefer cold sake, because easier to drink.
Not many people drink hot sake, I think old generations (like my dad and my grandpa)
Used to drink hot sake a lot. Hot sake makes your body warm, so it’s good for winter.

Not all Izakaya have hot sake, It`s not so common drinking hot sake anymore.
I think Beer and Syochu is more common.
I haven`t have Sake for ages.

I also agree with everyone`s opinion. Hot sake is not very popular for young generation.
My hot sake image is OJISAN (Old guy).
I sometimes have cold sake, my favourite sake is `Hakkaisan(八海山)` `Kubota(久保田``Jyozen Mizuno Gotoshi(上善水の如し).
All of them are not so dry, and easy to drink.
I think Ideal for Japanese food, Nabe鍋(Hot Pot), Yakitori, and Sashimi.

For me sparkling Nigori Sake is best, but it doesn't last long if it gets warm
